Miles lives with his parents in New York and has a villainous uncle named Aaron/Prowler. Like Peter before him he’s bitten by a radioactive spider from Oscorp which endows him with incredible powers. With this power Miles tries to emulate the late Peter Parker while balancing school, family life and the whirlwind of adventure that has become his life.

7. Azrael/Michael Washington Lane

The man who would one day become Azrael was a Gotham police officer that was changed into a villainous Batman who before taking the sword of Azrael and the suit of sorrows as an agent of the Order of Purity, from the Sacred Order of Saint Dumas. In a cryptic future he became the anti Christ.

During DC Comics new 52 he moved to New York and starred in his own ongoing title which was among the first wave of cancellations.

9. Tyrone Cash/Leonard Williams

Leonard Williams was the mentor to a young Bruce Banner and they worked on the super soldier formula. As Leonard he relied on crutches to walk but after transforming he became the powerful and violent gangster “Tyrone Cash.”

10. Blankman

Darryl Walker is an exaggerated nerdy gullible geeky man-child gifted with prodigious brilliance in the field of invention and robotics. After the death of his grandmother he’s inspired to clean up his neighborhood which has been overrun by crime. He is joined in this quest by best friend (and invention) J5 and later his older brother as “Other guy”.

An African orphan and former child soldier chosen by Batman himself to represent Batman incorporated as the Batman of Africa. Batwing fought evil not just as a superhero but every day as the only non corrupt police officer in his precinct. In his fight on crime he had a powerful suit of armor which augmented his strength and granted fight. He eventually walked away from the Batwing mantle though he plans to continue his war on crime.

Kaldur’ahm(Jackson Hyde) is the son of Black Manta and the successor to the first Aqualad who became Tempest. Despite his father’s villainy Kaldur has chosen the life of the hero. Due to biological experimentation conducted by Atlantean outlaws, Kaldur has the unique ability to construct solid objects from water, and when in contact with water he develops webbed hands and gills so he can breathe underwater. Though he was created for the now cancelled Cartoon Network show ‘Young Justice’ he was later brought into comics by Geoff Johns in Brightest Day #4 but has not been seen in the new 52 relaunch.

Nubia was created from black clay by the queen of the Amazons Hipolyta as a sister for Dianna who was created from white clay. This version of Nubia went beyond being princess of the amazons and rose to the rank of Queen. Partnered with President Superman she was present during Final Crisis and in a latter appearance seems to be the a huge moral guide for President Superman whose ideas of keeping the world safe blur the line between hero and villain.

James Rhodes was a soldier in the United States Army who has served as a stand in replacement for Tony Stark as Iron Man. Rhodey grew into his own character over the years though becoming War Machine whose armor dwarfs Iron Man’s in sheer destructive force. Appearances in the Iron Man movie franchise later gave him mass appeal.

With his street smarts and unending determination to do right, he fights for the common man!

16. Blue Marvel/ Adam Brashier

The Blue Marvel is an African-American superhero who was asked to retire by President Kennedy for the Civil Rights movement. Blue Marvel is forced out of retirement to face his greatest foe and former best friend, Anti-Man. Despite being one of the most powerful beings on Earth he has been used rarely since his debut in 2009.

17. Tangent Superman

Harvey Dent has evolved into human being on the planet earth. When his powers first manifested he used his powers to help people as Superman; however over time his methods became ruthless. He eventually became the ruler of his planet and attempted to conquer the mainstream DC Universe in a misguided bid to “save them”. In this quest he showed how much he outclassed Clark Kent/Superman in terms of raw power.

After arriving on earth he was taken in by a kindly black couple who instilled the morals of peace love and the American way into him; his father also taught him the art of boxing. As Calvin Ellis he eventually ascended to the presidency of the United States.

Monet St. Croix, also simply known as M, is one of the more powerful new mutants of her generation with powers eerily reminiscent of Kryptionians under a yellow sun. She was involved with the now cancelled X-Factor Investigations and was a former member of Generation-X.

21. Aliyah Bishop

Aliyah Bishop is the daughter of the X-Man Bishop and Sh’iar Royal Deathbird. Aliyah was an instrumental part of the battle on her world to defeat the mumudrai Cassandra Nova and doomed all existence. After the climactic battle she becomes the Majestrix Sh’iar, being the only surviving member of the Neramani family, with her father as imperial chancellor.
22. Bishop

Lucas Bishop is a mutant from the 22nd century that traveled into the past, becoming a temporary member of the X-Men. He has the power to channel kinetic energy, releasing it generally through beams of energy. In recent years Bishop betrayed the X-men to kill the mutant messiah Hope Summers and was left stranded in the future. In 2013 he returned to the present in the pages of Uncanny X-force.
23. Darwin

1st appearance: X-Men: Deadly Genesis #2 (February, 2006)
The half-black, half-latino Darwin/Armando Edi Munoz is a mutant with the power of reactive evolution literally allowing him to survive anything, though it is completely involuntary. As a member of Professor Xavier’s failed X-men team lead by Vulcan he was presumed dead for years. Upon returning he rejoined the X-men and later X-Factor Investigations. With X-factor he battled Hela the Asgardian mistress of death in Las Vegas. He is currently trying to cope with his new acquired powers and left the team.
24. Kasper Cole

1st appearance: Black Panther #50, 2002
Meet Kasper Cole the ½ white, ½ black, Jewish son of the supervillain Kibuka. Kasper briefly operated as the Black Panther when the mantle was left vacant by T’challa while he was in New York. His duel wielding gun style made him a very unique take on the Black Panther mythology in a modern setting. Kasper also appeared in the short-lived Black Panther spinoff series “The Crew” before being cast into comic book limbo. Writer David Liss had plans for the character but had his “Black Panther: Most Dangerous man alive” series cancelled before this could be implemented.
25. Shuri

Younger Sister to T’challa the Deadliest man Alive, daughter to T’chaka the Great, often called the deadliest of the special and the current reigning Queen of Wakanda. Shuri was born to the greatest and prestigious dynasty in the marvel universe. Born to be queen Shuri is a fierce loyalist to her people who unlike T’challa believes in the old ways.
26. Azzari

Azzari/Azzuri more popularly known as “The Wise” was the black panther and king of wakanda during the world war two era, father of T’chaka “The Great”, Syan “The Swift” and grandfather of T’challa “The Most Dangerous Man Alive” and Shuri “Deadliest of the Species”. He also has the distinction of being the man who defeated Captain America/Steve Rogers and gave him the idea for a circular shield that could be thrown for both defensive and offensive combat purposes.
27. Becka Munroe

Becka is the daughter of the X-men’s longtime leader Storm/Ororo Munroe. Curiously she has both weather control powers like her mother and a lupine feral nature and abilities which suggest she was conceived when the X-men traveled to the Savage Land and were under the control of Brainchild. Birthed in a jungle she was taken in by the Rasputin clan which sprung up there.

Blade is half human and half vampire, thus possessing all the strengths but none of the weaknesses of a traditional vampire. He has dedicated his life to destroying the occult world of vampires and all who associate with them. Blade is most popular for his portrayal by Wesley Snipes in the Blade Trilogy set of movies.
30. Hawkgirl

Meet the Hawkgril of Earth 2, Kendra Munoz-Saunders who made her debut during the new 52 event. Kendra was an archeologist /hunter/ tomb raider who came to the military’s attention after an adventure in Egypt gave her wings around the same time a new Dr. Fate was empowered. As a ‘wonder’ on her world she was present during the battle with Grundy and was instrumental in guiding the Flash into his heroic future. She will also be a founding member of the JSA.

Icon is by far the one who should get a reboot. And he should have his own squad within the Justice League. It’s a shame someone so powerful has to take the back seat because Superman gets all the props. I’m banking on Icon being able to smash out Doomsday.
