Drew McIntosh-Dread & Alive

Notes: He is the first Jamaican superhero to have his own ongoing series.

Powers: “Felinethropy” allowing him to change into feline/lion man hybrid with all the added benefits of enhanced senses, strength and healing.

He also possesses the maroon medallion which has unrevealed powers and also enhances his own powers considerably.

Biography

Drew Mcintosh is a direct descendant of the Jamaican Maroons who fought for Jamaica’s Independence. His father was a cultural anthropologist who died a mysterious death. Drew grew up with the maroons and was granted the mantle of “keeper of the medallion”. He must keep a constant vigil for the evil shadowcatcher draws ever closer. As a man he has followed in his father’s footsteps as a cultural anthropologist though with all the prowess of an enhanced Lion.

Background: Thousands of years ago a giant meteor fell to earth and crashed in Africa. The nation which sprung up around the crash site came to be known as Wakanda. The meteor contained the metal Vibranium which can mutate those exposed to it into creatures resembling demons. For this reason the mound is sealed and accessible only to qualified personnel. The first Black Panther was known as Bashenga.

History

In modern times Wakanda is known as the most technologically advanced nation in the marvel universe being hundreds if not thousands of years ahead of the most thriving technological meccas of today. They have found cures for such diseases as Cancer and Aids among others. The culture of Wakanda is based around the worship of the Panther God/Bast. In the past other gods were worshiped most notably the sacred white Gorilla but that has since been outlawed.

In Addition to the technologically advanced central wakandan capital there also exists about eighteen other tribes called the marsh tribes. These tribes are tied together with the main monarchy by the Dora Milaje. It is also in central Wakanda that the precious metal Vibranium can be found.

Trade

Wakanda is one of the few nations in the world not part of the U.N while being completely self sufficient not needing to trade beyond their borders for food, clothing or technology. What little is traded with the outside world is processed Vibranium.

Hatut Zeraze

History

Created and founded by Black Panther T’chaka after Klaw tried to invade their nation of Wakanda. They are essentially the secret survive and assassins of the nation reporting directly to the king himself. They were lead by Hunter, the step brother of T’challa. When T’challa rose to power after the death of his father he banished Hunter and the Hatut Zeraze from Wakanda not agreeing with their methods.  They still operate in the united states under Hunter who maintain Wakandas best interests still despite his exile. He was noted for encouraging Casper Cole to take up being the Black Panther despite trying to manipulate him.

Technology

They employ vibranium weave costumes which absorbs kinetic force and is virtually bulletproof. Their shoes cling to walls and has a camouflage ability making them invisible to the naked eye.

Training

Members are trained in a wide variety of martial arts skills along with armed combat. In addition they are very skilled infiltrators, Assassins and torturers. In turn they can withstand a great deal of punishment and a re trained to guard there secrets at all costs.

Biography

William Barrett “Bill” Foster was born in a ghetto but thanks to his brilliant and scientific mind he managed to land himself a scholarship to California Technical Institute and then enlisted in the military. After this he worked for Stark Technologies and their he assisted Henry Pym/Yellow Jacket/Giant Man to solve a pym particle related problem. Once finished he created his own “growth formula” without any of the side effects of the original. He briefly clashed with Luke Cage and a Technical Adviser for the short lived Champions during his early years.

In modern times he fought against the registration act during civil war and wound up dead thanks to Clor/Ragnaroc. He was succeeded by his nephew, Tom Foster who continued his legacy.

Biography

Virgil Ovid Hawkins was what one would classify as a “geek” and as a result was bullied.  After being bullied one too many times he was given a gun by some gang banger friends who told him if he was tired of being pushed around he should come to Paris island. Unfortunately it was the night of the “Big Bang” when all the gangs met up. Once there he threw the gun away thinking “this wasn’t for him. When the island was gassed he gained a variety of electromagnetic powers. Inspired by the comics he had grown up with he became the superhero, Static.

The life of a hero was turbulent as he dealt with other super-being now super-villains who gained powers from the Big Bang most notably, Holocaust. He formed a friendship with fellow teen hero Rocket and even Icon and Hardware. He dealt with his own Homophobia when his friend Rick Stone came out as gay. He later decided to retire from the superhero business.

After being kidnapped by the Dark Side Club, Static joined the Teen Titans and continues to protect Dakota while serving on the team.

Powers: He has the same ability as his grandfather and was also able to absorb the powers of any meta-human or alien he touched.

Biography

Will Everett grew up with his grandfather the golden age Amazing Man after his father Will Everett II had joined the army and subsequently been killed. His grandfather told him all about his adventures but when he later developed cancer Will saw it as a result of his powers. He always wished to live a normal life “free from his family’s curse”. While in college he started having dreams which revealed his then emerging powers. Despite reluctance he eventually embraced his powers despite thinking they would result in his death.

Will Everett III Continued on his grandfather’s heroic tradition, joining the Justice League by a request from Wonder Woman. While a member, he was Vital in the Defeat of Overmaster alongside the other members of the League and some reformed members of the Cadre of the Immortal. Soon after Captain Atom formed a splinter group of the JLA called ” Extreme Justice”. He remained with the team until it Disbanded.

Later, Will joined the unofficial re-grouping of Justice League Europe led by Crimson Fox. Until Their single ill-fated adventure.Where Will ,Crimson Fox and Blue Devil were apparently killed by a supervillainess named the Mist. In Amazing-Man’s case, Mist had Fooled him into mimicking glass, then shattered him. Markus Clay (his Cousin) is the new Amazing-Man.

Skills and Abilities: Excellent hand to hand combatant trained in armed and unarmed combat and various martial arts.

Powers: Jackson is a high level psionic seedling. He has telepathic abilities and Psychokinesis. His powers are further enhanced by his cyber trans-suit. The suit helps o focus his power and enhance it ten times it’s normal levels. He also carries guns which he can use to focus his Psychokinesis  into deadly force bolts. By focusing his power through the armor he also gains superhuman strength. He also employs his powers to make protective shields.

Biography

Jackson king is the first son of son of Isaiah King who was affected by the “Comet event”. As a seedling with uncharted power he was drafted into Stormwatch, the united nations peace keeping force. During training he was very close to training officer Whiplash who became like a father to him. After training he rose to the rank of field leader, his only request was that his brother Malcolm be left out of it. His career has been filled with many tribulations over time. He has been faced with betray by teammates Flash point and even his second father Whiplash. The death of his teammate Diva, his father’s decent into madness and the decimation of his team. More recently his brother now codenamed Strafe sided with his deranged father forever dashing his hopes of a normal life for him.  His relationship with Stormwatch seedling activator Christine Trelane/Synergy has complicated his career as well. He was taken off active duty and made training director when Weatherman though he had become a liability. He has also served as leader of Monarchy and in the newly relaunched Wildstorm universe he is the leader of Stormwatch: Post Human Division (PHD).
