Biography

Kendra Munoz-Saunders was a somewhat famous treasure hunter/archeologist/tomb raider who came to the military’s attention. On an adventure with them she got her wings which she sees as a burden since she can no longer have a normal life. She then escaped from the military who now thought she was their property.

She later tracks the newly powered Jay Garrick/Flash to Berlin for aid in saving the planet from Grundy. In the process they clash with the military and her old teammate the Atom and meet Green Lantern/Alan Scott. Together they manage to end the threat of Grundy but Alan refuses to join the others in creating a non military run team. Kendra then discovers Alan’s identity and tracks him to his home where he is wallowing in his grief over his lover’s death. Again he refuses to join her and flash, Kendra then leaves for places unknown.

Note: This version of Hawkgirl is based on Kendra Saunders who first appeared in JSA Secret Files #1 (8/1999) by David Goyer and James Robinson which was based on the Golden Age Hawkgirl created by Gardner Fox and Dennis Neville who first appeared in Flash Comics #1 (1/1940).
