Earth 2 #7

Earth 2 #7 Review

Who is Hawkgirl? The secret is revealed!

Mr. Terrific makes his first appearance on Earth 2 since he left our world!

Don’t miss the aftermath of “THE GRUNDY APOCALYPSE!”

 Summary

Green Lantern Alan Scott is depressed in his apartment when he’s visited by Hawkgril who tries o rouse him. Khan and Sloan continue their rivalry while Khan send s his men to retrieve Mister Terrific from Sloan.

 What I liked

Cover- Gorgeous rendition of Hawkgirl vs. Green Lantern Alan Scott

Diversity- Honestly Earth 2 should be marketed as the very best and brightest that the “New 52” has to offer; a gay green lantern, an Arab villain, a Hispanic Hawkgirl and a black Mr. Terrific. This book is what I expected when DC promised change but instead only an alternate timeline can deliver on this promise while Earth prime has Superman, Batman and Aquaman run around everywhere.

Art-Yildiray Cinar is the guest artist who work is awesome on all fronts. Hawkgirl looks awe inspiring with her wings spread while Alan Scott’s rugged drunken

Black Heros- Hawkgirl of earth 2 is hot. Sorry for the prudes out there who think my saying that is objectifying her but any straight man looking at Munoz-Saunders will think she is one very sexy piece of work. This issue Mister Terrific makes his appearance as well.

Emotional- Alan Scott’s pain is palpable and that is good writing because I actually give a damn!

Action- While this issue was a slower pace than the opening arc it showcased Mr. Terrific kicking ass and taking names. Good times!

 Overall

Slower but better than the latter part of the opening arc 3/5

Earth 2 #8

Earth 2 #8 Review

The alien war criminal Steppenwolf returns! It’s been five years since he lead the forces of Apokolips against Earth — learn what he’s been up to since then!

Plus: What is the dark secret behind the last Amazon of Earth 2?

Summary

Stephen Wolf has been stranded on Earth 2 since Apocalypse’s failed invasion (Earth 2 #1-Earth 2 #2) and he’s taken the last of the Amazon’s as his enforcer. Fury helps his conquer a nation and set himself up a ruler.

What I liked

There was allot of action and the introduction of both Stephenwolf and the last Amazon Fury! The art and covers also looked pretty good.

 What I didn’t like

This issue fell flat for me. It failed to excite or make me want to know anything more of this villainous duo. Everything this issue was set up for clearly a bigger story down the line.

 Overall

2.5/5

I’m sorry, i just don’t get the remaking of white HEROS as black. And some of the more prominent ones have blond or white hair or chacteristics. There’s so many black HEROS ready for the main pages so why do they keep re- making the old.
