Biography

Delroy Garett Jr. was an Olympic medalist who was caught taking steroids. Distraught and directionless he joined the Triune Understanding. Taken under the wing of its leader Jonathan Tremont he was bonded to the stolen energy of the original 3-D man which gave him superhuman abilities. He was unaware of how he arrived at these powers as he thought the Triune had simply unlocked his potential. He soon became their spokesman and fiercest proponent.

He made his superhero debut helping the Avengers battle Mosses Magnum. Later on he assisted them against Pagan, Lord Templar and Taskmaster. He was then recruited into the Avengers at the behest of Duane Freeman since the Avengers had suffered allot of bad publicity and accusations of racism. The manner in which he joined lead to strained relationships with a few teammates especially Iron Man. Later adventures proved he was a fine addition to their ranks and the problems eventually ceased.

During Kang’s attack on earth the “Triple Evil” entered the solar system leading to an uneasy alliance between the Triune and the Avengers. Here his mentor revealed the true origins of his powers as he tried to kill Delroy and use his powers to take control of the Triple evil. When Tremont lost control of its powers Delroy was the one who finally ended the threat. Back on Earth he was separated from the original 3-D man yet retained his abilities. When the UN reorganized the Avengers he left the team.

After Civil War he sided with Captain America’s anti-registration heroes. When Cap died he joined the initiative as an instructor now going by the 3-D man moniker. Now equipped with the original 3D-man’s goggles which allow him to see Skrulls in disguise he joined the fight against the Skrull’s during secret invasion. After this he joins Ryder and the Skrull Kill Krew  to hunt down the Skrulls left on earth.

  1. The George Perez version of his costume is awesome! I do wish we could see him come back in s’more significant series. He’s just another of Marvel’s long list of wasted characters.
