Seven Soldiers: The Manhattan Guardian #2 Review

Seven Soldiers: The Manhattan Guardian #2 – Homeless Superior

Manhattan Guardian part 2 of 4; Seven Soldiers whole part 7 of 30.

The Guardian’s encounter with the subway pirates turns into a wild race through a labyrinth of secret subway tunnels underneath New York – their goal, a gem known as the Foundation Stone of Manhattan.

Summary

JJ/Manhattan Guardian tries desperately to hold on to All-Beard’s train but gets thrown off. No-beard picks him up and they agree to work together so No-Beard can get the treasure and he can save his girl. The trains now chained together, all the pirates’ battle as JJ saves the remaining civilians. They ride off a precipice as JJ, his girl, and one other man make their way back to surface. The only pirates left alive are No beard and all-beard who wade through radioactive waste to secure what appears to be a dice.

Back on the surface the Manhattan guardian paper has seen a huge jump in readership thanks to the footage brought back by JJ. He wants to quit but the world needs a guardian. His father in law also apparently died when he left him injure dint he subway to save his girl.

In the subway No beard now a rotted husk continues to prowl the subways.

The Good

Story- Fans of the twilight zone will dig this. It’s so bizarre and out of this world you cant help but be jarred by the absolute weirdness of this tale.

Characterization- JJ continues to be a hero worth our time. His guilt over leaving his father in law will no doubt play into allot of decisions to come.

Action- This issue had lots of action sequences to keep all action junkies happy.

Art- it continues to hit all the right notes for me.

Cover- Gorgeous cover!

The Bad

Tale is still weird as all hell! Thus making it inaccessible to a certain kind of comic book fan.

The Ugly

3/5 solid

stars- 3 good
