The text reads:
“Ulysses Klaue was an assassin hired to take down T’Chaka at the Bilderberg conference in the case that he refused to negotiate Wakanda’s resources including Vibranium. But, Klaue was also there personally, as the Panther killed his great-grandfather in the 19th century while this one was trying to annex Wakanda. He was paid ten million dollars for the kill.”
This confirms that the Reginald Hudlin version of Klaue is being used for the movie. Back during Hudlin’s opening arc “Who is the Black Panther”, The new “modern” backstory was established where King T’chaka is assassinated by Ulysses Klaue at the behest of the Bilderberg group. In the Hudlin original Klaue’s ancestor gets flash evaporated by Wakanda‘s advanced tech while he tried to invade the land with a handful of soldiers during the time of slavery [See Black Panther #1 for details]. thus in the present Klaue not only kills T’chaka for the money but also for revenge.
Other details revealed by this screencap are that T’Chaka was assassinated at the Bilderberg conference. What the hell is that? Well:
The Bilderberg conference is an annual private gathering of approximately 120-150 political leaders and experts from various industries.
In the comics T’Chaka shuts down the group in an epic way!
I understand your frustration in dealing with a black man who can’t be bought with a truck full of guns, a plane lead of blonde, and a Swiss bank account. But hold on to what little class you have.— T’Chaka to the Bilderberg Conference
This comes up after T’chaka was unwilling to negotiate Wakanda’s precious resources, notably Vibranium [See Black Panther #1 for details]. The report also states that Klaue was paid $10 million to kill the leader. Color me excited by the new details ahead of Black Panther/T’challa’s debut next year in Captain America: Civil War.
