Biography
Tanya started out as an intern for star Industries run by Karen Star- the kryptonian Power Girl of Earth 2 – but after an explosion in the lab that returned the original Power Girl to her world, Tanya awoke to find she’s inherited some new abilities [World’s Finest #23].
New powers and a huge check from her predecessor before she left couldn’t make up for everything Tanya lost in her time at Starr. During an attack by Apokalips baddie Desaad, Tanya’s mother was murdered. Now the young hero wants to make sure she uses her new powers to protect anyone else who could lose someone the way she lost her mother.
While she grew up in Boston, Tanya knew the best place to find heroes was New York City and that’s just where she found the Teen Titans. But the titans weren’t quite the fit she expected, with disagreements, leadership challenges and In fighting that led the new hero to realize maybe the Titans need a lot of work as a team [Teen Titans #4-5].
Since when Power Girl became black? Is is DC Comics way of being ethnically diverse,or is it because they written a new character to take the mantle of Power Girl….I’m confused!
New character. It says she was intern to the original power girl but a lab accident gave her poower girls powers.
this is a whole diff character….the name is just a name
Thank you, somebody’s getting it. You can give the symbol to someone of another race as long as they are their own character.
Since when is being white, busty, and blonde a problem, to where we must rebrand power girl with a girl of different race…why not just make a new character instead of going after white heros. The world is too busy saying its diversifying when in reality it’s killing off white people. What’s next are we going to make super man a gay woman with a different race. Just make a new character. Be original.
