She also has access to magic for a variety of effects. Before being enhanced she displayed teleportation and the ability to fire concussive force blasts from her hands.

After bonding with the dark magic of the ‘book of azar’ she could start and manipulate fire. Summon and control both dark beetles and flying demons. She manifested potent concussion force blasts able to overpower even Grace. She could summon a dragon composed of pure dark energy which was bigger and stronger than any normal dragons and was immune to anyone’s control but her own. Onyx also had the ability to transform those who showed her loyalty into strong and more powerful demonic versions of themselves.

Life as a Mercenary

An assassin for hire who’s from theFaye kingdom of Sethoru described as a place of dark magic [Soulfire v1 #8]. She first makes her appearance trying to abduct Mal the latest incarnation of the Samusara/the Light, the living embodiment of magic. He managed to escape her grasp however [Soulfire v1 #1 2003]. She battled Grace but upon realizing who she was she fled back to her employer, Rainier. She attempted to discuss additional payment but Rainer strong-armed her by using his techno-organic Dragon [Soulfire v1 #2 2003]. She later reappeared in Hawaii and killed the first teacher of Mal, Kamea [Soulfire v1. #5, 2003]. Upon realizing Rainer had called in Abel she was very upset [Soulfire v1. #6]. She also showed deep concern for Rainer despite his violent tendencies and hate of all Faye [Soulfire v1. #7 2003]. Onyx then infiltrated the castle Anatia and massacred the barrier protectors so Rainer could get in and kill Mal [Soulfire v1. #8]. She later participated in the attack on the castle and took Mal to Rainer and battled Grace. Rainer and her were defeated but she manged to rescue him before he could be killed [Soulfire v1. #10].

Leader of the Sethoru

Onyx next appears independently of Rainier back in the kingdom of the Sethoru killing a book-keeper so she could get the ‘book of Azar’ so her people could rule once more. After a brief skirmish with Grace she disappears and heads to the cave of her ancestors. There she reads from the forbidden book but the spell manifests unexpectedly as she is consumed by Dark Beetles [Soulfire v3. 2011 #1]. Transformed by the spells and more powerful than ever she attacked the kingdom of Anatia. She killed king Arlun and then told all the people of Sethoru to leave with her so they could rebuild their kingdom. Rallied to her cause she left with her people [Soulfire v3. #2 2011]. Onyx took them back to the cave and transformed her people using shadow magic [Soulfire #3 v3. 2011].  With an army she attacked the city again but found spirited resistance in the form of Grace, Mal and an army [Soulfire v3. 2011 #6]. With a dragon of Dark Magic she almost manged to defeat the city but Miya intervened and the darkness of Samusara’s past manifested [Soulfire vol.3 #7 2011]. Knocked unconscious during the explosive battle that ensued she was chained and cast in the dungeons of Anatia and bound with the strongest of magics. Despite this she claimed they could not hold her forever [Soulfire v3. #8 2011].
