Marvel Now- Avengers by Jonathan Hickman
I’m a fan of Jonathon Hickman, by now ya’ll know this so without further adieu I give you the words of the new man in charge of the avengers!
On the expanded Avengers lineup, Hickman says it was agreed upon that the roster should “look more like the world.” “What people have seen so far are the biggest and most iconic characters that everyone knows or has some familiarity with,” Hickman continues. “As we reach #7 and #8, the book is populated with new or revised versions of established characters.” There will be about 24 characters on the team in total. “By the time we get to 22 characters on the book, 12 are either female or minority, and we feel like we’ve accomplished what we’ve set out to do, which is a book that looks like the world.”

I don’t know about you but that sounds mighty fine on paper. Confirmed black heroes so far include African American The Falcon (meh) and Aborigine Eden Fesi last seen in the secret warriors title and Sunspot the Brazilian hot rod from the New Mutants/X-men line! Color me interested!

Sounds good but I’m gonna wait and see how prominent a role their going to play or is it going to be the same old background,sidekick,subservient,or submissive shit taker that we’re so accustomed to…p.s. how long has Luke cage had STEEL HARD SKIN instead of just being invulnerable like his super strong counterparts and they just started actually saying how strong he is and he’s still not in the class of the other heavy hitters.25 tons?!? That’s bush league compared to,vision,thing,hulk,Thor,wonderman,Namor,she hulk,colossus,beta ray bill,shall I go on?o.k. ..doc Sampson,Hercules,Hyperion,J2,Jocasta,and that’s just the good guys!…sorry guys,what’s the topic again?
