Miles Morales- Black Spider-Man

Well after the hooplah and crazy publicity surrounding Glover’s bid to be the new spider man and with the death of the ultimate version of peter Parker Brian Michael Bendis revealed at USA TODAY that the new Spider man will be 1/2 Black 1/2 Hispanic (making him Blatino) Miles Morales who was inspired by the late Peter Parker.

Sales Gimmick? Perhaps! But with this revelation Miles Morales has just become the highest profiled Black/Hispanic/Blatino Superhero of 2011.You can look forward to his origin in the new Ultimate Spider-Man #1 in September.

When probed about the new her writer Brian Michael Bendis said:

“The theme is the same: With great power comes great responsibility,”   “He’s going to learn that. Then he has to figure out what that means.”

Marvel’s editor in chief, Axel Alonso went one with this:

“What you have is a Spider-Man for the 21st century who’s reflective of our culture and diversity. We think that readers will fall in love with Miles Morales the same way they fell in love with Peter Parker.”

Interesting stuff BH fans, expect the verdict on this one as it drops!

and in case you missed it read up on the Black Hulk, Black Superman, villainous Black Spider-Woman, The Black mutant Supergirl and the bi-racial Black Panther
