It’s official, Marvelites: Ryan Coogler will step up to direct Marvel’s “Black Panther,” in theaters February 16, 2018!
“We are fortunate to have such an esteemed filmmaker join the Marvel family,” said producer Kevin Feige. “The talents Ryan showcased in his first two films easily made him our top choice to direct ‘Black Panther.’ Many fans have waited a long time to see Black Panther in his own film, and with Ryan we know we’ve found the perfect director to bring T’Challa’s story to life.”
Chadwick Boseman will star in “Black Panther” after debuting as the character in the upcoming Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War,” in theaters May 6.

Awesome!!! Here is a list of what needs to happen:
-Afrofuturism! We need a futuristic, sci-fi heavy Wakanda. No more MUD-HUTS. Basically Ancient Egypt meets Star Trek
-Multifaceted characterization. I wanna see T’Challa as a well developed character ala Priest’s run. He should be a great strategist, a capable not arrogant leader, an amazing scientist and badass fighter. His supporting cast and villains should also be done well.
-Expand Wakandan lore. I wanna see Wakanda’s backstory proper.
-Finally, IT SHOULD NOT BE LIKE HUDLIN’S RUN! Follow the Priest and Hickman run and expand on that.
p.s NO STORM MARRIAGE! If he should have a love interest, let it be someone with actual story potential and not just name recognition. Namora perhaps?
