Writer Ta-Nehisi Coates ended his multi-year run on Black Panther with the title’s 25th issue in May. While Black Panther marks Ridley’s first ongoing Marvel series — he also collaborated with Jorge Fornés for Wolverine: Black, White & Blood #3 — the filmmaker is also one of the writers for DC’s Batman family of titles, and also penned The Other History of the DC Universe. The comic looked back at various events from DC’s history involving its characters of color such as Black Lightning, Katana, Bumblebee and Mal Duncan.
