Back in June when we broke the news about Chiwetel Ejiofor had been cast as Baron Mordo in the upcoming Dr.Strange Movie from Marvel Studious. Opinions were all over the place: some were happy,others….not so much. Now thanks to a slew of leaked pictures from the set of the now shooting Dr. Strange film which stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role we have our first look at Baron Mordo. Also find below the first footage of Chiwetel as Mordo.
Doctor Strange is set to hit theaters November 4, 2016 scripted by Jon Spaihts, directed by Scott Derrickson, Rachel McAdams as the female lead, Michael Stuhlbarg as Doctor Nicodemus West, and Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One. “Hannibal” and Rogue One star Mads Mikkelsen is also in talks for the villain role of the film, which remains a mystery.
this version of Baron Mordo will be “an amalgamation of characters culled from Doctor Strange‘s mythology.” This mash-up methodology was previously used in “Iron Man 2” for Mickey Rourke’s villain Whiplash; the character’s civilian identity — Anton Vanko — was paired with Whiplash, a separate Iron Man villain.
