Biography
SHAANGO is the first LOS BRIGNOLES EDITIONS comic book. Created by KADE, TIR and JAC, graphically inspired by American comic books standards, SHAANGO is unconventional on its message and its form. Ishan, its hero, he’s lost in his doubts, his fears and his feelings, he has to take on a gift (a supernatural power) that he doesn’t understand. His power comes from African roots which he’s not aware of. It’s a shock for our misunderstood hero.
City atmosphere and dark surroundings, reflecting French suburbs, are the comic book setting. Shaango is a modern and urban version of a Yoruba myth which already inspired Aimé Césaire for his play “La tragédie du Roi Christophe”. Shaango displays an ancestral past around an African God of thunder and storm.
