Biography
Luca is the leader of the M-80s, a Scare City Gang that, though relatively small, has had a healthy slice of the alcohol trade, particularly in The Shoulder, under an arrangement with The Potato King.
Luca rules. She’ll tell you so herself. A natural leader, beautiful, strong, brave and resourceful, the boss of the M-80s is nonetheless plagued by doubts and self-loathing. In her internal monologues, she refers to herself as “…a drunk… a fat ex-holey with a cheap plastic flower in her hair.” Luca will do anything, Luca has done everything to stay alive in the crucible of Scare City. She is a survivor par excellence. Utterly unsentimental, she confronts whatever comes with her often-repeated, tough-guy refrain “let’s go”. One more thing: Luca is in love. Love, ok? Her mysterious lover, Lena, may be a ghost or a spirit from the planet. Ask Luca if she cares.
