Biography
Lonnie Thompson Lincoln is a tall Albino African American with a disfigured nose, filled pointed teeth, and damaged vocal cords limiting o speak in whispers, nicknamed Tombstone as a play on his middle name and deathly pallor. Senior year in Harlem High School Lonnie was a bully and extortionist. When Robertson was editor of the school paper Lonnie ‘convinced” him to kill an article that would have exposed his criminal activity to the school. Years later when Robertson was working at the Philadelphia Inquirer he witnessed his informant killed by Lonnie. Terrified he remained silent for years eventually becoming editor-in-Chief at the Daily Bugle. Over the next twenty years, Lonnie became the infamous Mob enforcer Tombstone, arrested dozens of times but never convicted. When he set his sights on New York Robertson confronted him and was almost killed. Punisher and Spiderman then went after him fro his criminal activities. He ended up in prison where he captured Spiderman and escaped. He then became the right-hand man of Hammerhead. It was here that he was exposed to a chemical in Osborn Corp and mutated into a heavier, stronger, and faster with petrified skin described as “cold as ice, hard as marble”. He then did battle with Hammerhead over the leadership of his Mob.
He next became an assassin for hire clashing with Daredevil, Darkhawk, Spiderman Luke Cage, and The Punisher. When Kingpin was taken down, he represented the maggia as he met with other crime leaders who planned to divide up kingpin’s empire. Infighting broke out and none became the new leader. He then clashed with Hammerhead once more and tried to become the head of a crime branch but his temper and aggression made him an unsuitable candidate. Later skirmishes with Gambit, Daredevil, and the marvel knights lead to his imprisonment in the slab; the superhuman prison. There his powers were negated and he mad a gang comprised of himself Rocket Racer, Hypno Hustler, and big Ben Donavan.
Ironic isn’t it-Tombstone is literally a”black man trapped in a white body” and is also a paradigm of the “bad albino” trope(why is it that when an albino of either sex or any ethnic group appears in comics or popular culture-pace the “Da Vinci Code”, as they are de facto bad- isn’t this a form of skin colour prejudice as bad as classic racism? In order to redress this bias I am writing a novel featuring a “good albino”
Tombstone’s daughter Janice appeared in the hilarious series Superior Foes of Spider-Man as the new villainous Beetle. Surely she deserves a spotlight as well
