“SPIDER-MAN NO MORE” CONTINUES
Can Miles return to Spider-Man after everything that’s happened?
There’s a new band of superheroes in town!
What is Ultimate Power Pack?!
The Good
Cover- The Ultimate version of Cloak and Dagger back to back, hands clasped expertly rendered by David Marquez. It looks pretty cool!
Art- Smooth as silk and twice as sexy best describes the detailed and lavish interiors of this book.
Black Heroes- We have the temporarily retired Miles Morales/Spider-Man and Ultimate Cloak.
Origin- I don’t know about anyone else but I really enjoyed the meeting of Cloak and Dagger before they became superheroes. Cloak and Dagger have always been one of my favorite bi-racial couples in comics and watching them debut under the capable pen of Brian Michael Bendis has me light headed and giddy.
Mystery- What exactly have Dr. Layla Miller, Nathaniel Essex, Arnim Zola and Dr Samuel Sterns done to these kids to make them Cloak and Dagger? We know Roxxon has taken over from Os Corp and are the new Big Bad in the Spider-Man universe how the hell will Miles take them down and what other crazy experiments are being conducted there.
Action- Interspersed in between the flashbacks we have the fight between the duo and Bombshell, these were well choreographed and illustrated!
The Bad
Guest Star- If you want more Miles for your bucks this month may leave you a bit disappointed since he’s relegated to guest star in his own book.
The Ugly
Great art and cover, emotive, relate-able and empathizing origin makes this one for the buy pile! 4/5
