Good lord! BH fans it’s not secret that a Luke Cage movie has been rumored for quite some time but get this according to Joblo.com Ibris Elba from NBC’s television hit series The Office and movies The Losers and Takers. May well get to play everyone’s favorite hero for hire since the movie may well be “green lit”. 🙂
These were his exact words
“I have a picture deal with them [Marvel]. I can’t tell you much about that, but I can tell you I’ll be back.”
“I wouldn’t mind having a crack at bringing Blade back, personally. But erm, there’s a couple of things there that they have… Luke Cage is… very interesting.”

Additionally he will also play the Norse god Heimdall in the upcoming Thor movie. While I’m not sold on Ibris as Luke since he would need to bulk up significantly for me to be convinced 🙂 but he is a Tall dark skinned ‘brotha’ who has a commanding presence on film and is sexy to boot! He was one of Essence “Ten Hottest Men on the Planet” in the 2004 and 2005 and one of People Magazine’s ‘100 Most Beautiful People in the World’ in 2007 so all the ‘sistas’ should be happy 🙂
