Powers: High level Technopathy and technokinesis.

  • Hack Can transform her body into digital information to transport herself and others through any electronic device. Can also stay in a digital information form where she can become tangible and intangible at will, shoot electricity from her body and increase her size and density.
  • She can communicate with machines and use her powers to fix them with a simple touch. She can also purge her system of viruses or illnesses with ease.
  • Has a specialized mind that can store and retrieve large amounts of information like a supercomputer.
  • With enough power she can also theoretically resurrect the dead granted they were converted to digital information at the moment of death.

Biography

Origins

Zalika grew up in the Korogocho slum. A city all its own , with two million people, close enough to Nairobi that you can see the lights but never reach them. It was crime riddled where heroin and alcohol were prevalent [Suicide Squad Vol 5 #5]. Her younger brother Jabari was put to work making “Chang’aa, an illegal, very potent spirit by the local gangs. When he and a friend stole a barrel they were shot in the knee to teach him a lesson. Unfortunately his wounds got infected and two weeks later he died [Suicide Squad Vol 5 #5].

As a pre-teen, she first saw Harley Quinn on the cover of “Fight” magazine. She becomes enamored with Harley who she described as “Colorful, bright, had an attitude and Glamour. She wasn’t Wonder Woman or about responsibility like Wonder Woman” to Hack she seemed like she had escaped everything and had total freedom.  In her native Kenya, those things seemed impossible [Suicide Squad Vol 5 #5].

The gangs would steal computers, phones and even credit cards. Her natural aptitude and manifesting powers allowed her to become prominent because of her talent. When her powers fully manifested  it set her free, gave her a new world. Data ran everywhere unseen, invisible knowledge, she stole this information. In a world where data is the most valuable currency, she realized that she could be the world’s greatest thief [Suicide Squad Vol 5 #5].

Even though she could be anything she went back to Korogocho for vengeance. The gang which had caused her brother’s death she trapped them in cyberspace. Then she started hacking into military, large corporations and other computer systems, stealing from the rich and keeping the money for herself. That was how the NSA started tracking her though it was the Russians that caught her [Suicide Squad Vol 5 #5].

Rescued by the Suicide Squad she finally met her idol, Harley Quinn. After her rescue, she aided them in their missions [Suicide Squad #3-6].  After Captain Boomerang is killed in battle with General Zod she subconsciously converts him to Digital Information. When he later lashes out and drives the prisoners of Belle-Reve crazy, Hack along with Harley Quinn is able to bring him back to life and defeat Zod using a massive amount of electricity [Suicide Squad #6-8].

She is instrumental in finding out who is the traitor on the team and later faces off with an enemy, Djinn, with her same power set but more experienced [Suicide Squad #11-12].  

She is with new director Harcourt when Amanda Waller is seemingly killed. After a long heart to heart with Harley who boosts her confidence and tells her she’s a hero she confronts who she thinks is the spy but is killed by Captain Boomerang [Suicide Squad #12-13].  

Life after Death

Death was just the beginning however as her consciousness escaped into cyberspace leaving her body to be found by her idol, Harley Quinn. It took weeks but she found enough power to take over the Belle-Reve network and set out to have her revenge on whoever killed her.

She attacked her teammates and when Amanda Waller attempted to kill her by blowing up the system it also killed her teammates who she saved once more by taking them into cyberspace.  Upon hearing that Boomerang was her murderer she almost killed him but was stopped by her idol, Harley Quinn. She saved the team before being defeated and seemingly destroyed by Wall [Suicide Squad #35-37].  

Hack finally fades away from [Suicide Squad #38-40].

She attacked her teammates and when Amanda Waller attempted to kill her by blowing up the system it also killed her teammates who she saved once more by taking them into cyberspace.  Upon hearing that Boomerang was her murderer she almost killed him but was stopped by her idol, Harley Quinn. She saved the team before being defeated and seemingly destroyed by Wall [Suicide Squad #35-37].  

She took over the techno based villain Wall then started downloading national security agency records, white house records and more. In Washinton DC she then took over the mobile network and through that the people through their parietal lobe of every living being in downtown Washington. She threatens Amanda Waller’s family to force her out. After attacking her children Waller agrees that she should never have had her on the team and to release files that would end her career. When Amanda agrees and she releases the files she seemingly fades away having finally got her revenge [Suicide Squad #38-40].
