As the hunt for the traitor who stalks Earth-2 comes to a close, the Fastest Man Alive may not be quick enough to escape his fate on this new world!
What I thought
This issue focuses on the young Jay Garrick, Earth 2’s Flash. It brings us to speed on what he’s done since they found the new planet etc. It paints a vivid picture of life on this new planet and the pressure placed on the young but superfast hero. His interactions with the other “wonders” were also refreshing especially the often neglected Hawkgirl. Jimmy Olsen’s heel turn at the end was also quite the shock but a much needed development. With Sloan dead and the whole original Earth 2 Planet gone good villains are hard to find. The team continues to come together in an organic way and the teamwork…it’s the stuff good comics are made of. That last page also leaves me excited as hell.Val-Zod also makes an appearance…
I liked the cover and the interior art provided by Jorge Jimenez especially the dynamic colors of Alejandro Sanchez. This duo on art just seem to get better and better each month. Expressive faces and a distinct style make this quite the looker.
Verdict
Overall this was another enjoyable book from DC Comics, in some ways it beats out Cyborg in some ways, in others it falls short. Thanks to solid art, a decent cover, strong character work and clean action we give this issue 3.5/5 stars
