What happened to Amanda Waller after the shocking destruction of Team 7?
And how did it lead to the creation of the Suicide Squad?
Summary
In the recent past Amanda Waller is in Malaysia where her former student comes to recruit her for a mission. Upon hearing what it is she agrees and gets caught up in a threat from villain Regulus with whom she shares history. The nuclear device she came to stop turns out to be a meta-bomb which causes mutations in those within the general vicinity. Regulus escapes and her friend is mutated, she kills him out of mercy.
Returning to America she proposes the creation of the Suicide Squad.
The Good
Cover- Here comes Amanda Waller front and center with her deadly team in the background.
Amanda Waller– This issue sets the ground work for how and why Amanda chose to create the suicide squad and why they use expendable soldiers.
The Bad
Boring- I wished this book was ½ as exciting as it thinks it was. I kept expecting things to get to that climax but it just never happened.
Art- The art really felt rushed and cobbled together from start to finish. Not one scene captured the trauma Amanda had been through and the action felt stilted.
