Biography

Anath was the high priest of Egypt during it’s prime while the Israelites were their slaves. When Moses proved his magic superior to Anath the Pharoah banished him from Egypt as punishment. Alone, shamed and lacking direction he wandered all over Egypt until he found the “Ka Stone”. Drawn to it’s power he took it and once it was on his head he found himself transformed and empowered with majestic mythical might. Now calling himself the Sphinx he wandered the earth for the next five thousand years. He eventually grew tired of his immortality and sought a way to end his life.

To this end he traveled the world until he found Nova/Richard Ryder. Accessing his ship he traveled to Xandar an alien world and drained it of all its knowledge. This filled him with new  purpose and he returned to earth to conquer it and faced the Fantastic Four. Unable to defeat him they set up a fight between himself and Galactus. Galactus prevailed and striped him of the Ka Stone and it’s powers and cast him into the time stream.

Arriving in the past he met with his younger self and both devise a plan to cheat their fate. His younger self falls into a trance for thousands of years while the older relives the events of his life. He awakens after his older self is defeated by Galactus and tries to restore the Ka Stone he is successful but defeated by the fantastic four and cast into the time stream.

When he later reemerges to warn his younger self of his fate the two are drawn into conflict as the younger Sphinx tries to take the Ka stone from his future self to become omnipotent. Equally matched they both took heroes from the time stream to kill the other. The older Sphinx won and joined the two Ka Stones together. He was then unable to enter normal time as he would need to remake time to enable two Ka Stones existing at once. Before he could finish however the heroes sent him into the timeline resulting in him ceasing to exist.
