Red Tails (Movie)

Thanks to BH member Joseph for bringing this movie to my attention. I can’t believe there is 0% buzz on this movie dedicated to the Tuskegee airmen and directed by Star Wars writer George Lucas?

Facts: This is the largest ensemble African-American male cast since “A Story Story” sadly over 30 years ago.

Check out the epic trailers below!

Synopsis

A crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program, having faced segregation while kept mostly on the ground during World War II, are called into duty under the guidance of Col. A.J. Bullard. As the war in Europe continues to take its toll on Allied forces, the Pentagon brass has no recourse but to consider unorthodox options — including the untried and untested African-American pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program. Against all the odds these intrepid young airmen take to the skies to fight for their country

  1. Thanks fo sounding the bell on this one. We should be out in full force and if we’re not it won’t be because the producer didn’t try. I won’t be because the actors didn’t promote. It won’t be because there’s no solid PR firm banging at the doors, or no documentary out there laying down the hard facts to go along with the high budget movie version. It will be because aside from the folks that don’t want this to succeed, we simply slept through it. Well my alarm clock is set. Hope yours is too,

PS — Little typo in your announcement. It’s “A Soldier’s Story.” And the movie (with Denzel Washington and the late Adolph Cesar) was as good as the play.

  2. I’m sooo going to see this!!!! My Great-Uncle, Carl J. Woods was a Tuskegee Airmen, and my Grandfather, Joseph L. Woods Sr. helped train them. I’m taking my son to see this as well so he will know not just his families history, but black history! I hope Lucas does his thang and the black actors as well!!

  3. Yes this is the movie event that everyone should stand in line for. Me my sons and family are going to go as a group. I heard that no major hollywood types wanted to back the project. They said they didn’t even know how to market this film. To me that’s a call to arms Akoben.
